Hairol Azizi Tajudin

Group Chief Executive Officer

Hairol became Group Chief Executive Officer of Cenergi SEA in March 2020. He has worked in the oil & gas and power sectors for over 25 years. He began his career in 1993 with Sarawak Shell Berhad as Control and Instrumentation Engineer and later joined Malakoff in 1997. During his 23 years at Malakoff, he has held several leadership positions such as Senior Vice President, Plant Manager, Head of Engineering, and Head of Department in multiple functions such as operations & maintenance, business development, and project development in the power, water, and renewable energy sectors.

His key achievements among others in Malakoff were the acquisition of 40% share in Al-Hidd power and water plant in Bahrain, acquisition of 50% share in 420 MW Macarthur wind farm in Australia, the largest one in Southern Hemisphere, completion of turnaround, modification, and improvement projects in coal-fired power plant and achievement of best plant performance in 2017 managing 2,100 MW coal-fired power plant as Plant Manager.

Hairol earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics & Systems with First Class Honours from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He also attended and completed the Harvard Senior Management Development Program in Malaysia in 2018.

Ir. Kwok Yew Hoe

Chief Business Development Officer

Ir. Kwok Yew Hoe joined Cenergi SEA in September 2022 as the Chief Business Development Officer. He started his career with Sime Darby in 1998 in field services and engineering. He had various business and management roles with Sime Darby; overseeing the Caterpillar Energy and Transportation businesses in Malaysia and Brunei, before managing the operations of an independent large scale solar power plant. During his tenure with Sime Darby Industrial, he had led a team to develop its maiden investment in biogas energy at Tennamaram palm oil mill and saw through the successful completion of the plant. Ir. Kwok had also successfully spearheaded the bids and eventually the design and delivery of a custom backup power generation systems for Malaysia’s largest Deepwater production platforms, Gumusut-Kakap, Kikeh and Malikai, while engaging with clients such as Petronas, Shell, Mubadala, Technip and McDermott. He also has notable achievements in the utility space namely in various distributed powerplant design and construction at remote locations for Tenaga Nasional (TNB), Sarawak Electricity (SEB) and Sabah Electricity (SESB), and Black Start generation system at Sultan Iskandar Power Station, Johor for Tenaga Nasional (TNB).

Ir. Kwok holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Malaya and an MBA from Multimedia University. He is a Professional Engineer (PE) registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), and also a Corporate Member and current Council Member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). He has extensive experience in the energy industry, including distributed power generation in renewable energy, oil and gas and utility sectors, spanning business unit management and business development.

Eric Wong Hong Yee

Senior General Manager, Project Management

Eric Wong joined Cenergi SEA in August 2012 and was appointed as the Head of Renewable Energy in 2014 after the successful acquisition of a 2.0MW biogas project in Palong. He has more than 20 years of experience working for a variety of construction firms. Previously, he has worked for Rhodia Energy Services and served as the Project Manager for AES Agriverde in Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), which is related to the use of biogas derived from palm oil mill effluent (“POME”).

He has successfully managed the construction of five palm oil mills during his tenure at AES Agriverde. In Cenergi, he completed the 2.0MW Havys Biogas Plant, which began exporting power to the national grid in August 2013. To date, he has overseen the development of 10 biogas power plants in Peninsular Malaysia.

Shamsuddin Sulaiman

Senior General Manager, Operations & Maintenance

In January 2013, Shamsuddin began working with Cenergi SEA as the operation manager for the Havys Biogas Plant. Later, he was promoted to Regional Manager in charge of the biogas portfolio’s growth. Shamsuddin started his career in Building Service Management with Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd in 1999 before working for Felda Palm Industries Sdn Bhd in 2002. In 2008, he made the switch to a sector with more renewable energy opportunities. From that point on, he has taken part in the evaluations, operations, and management of biogas-to-flare and biogas-to-grid energy projects as part of the Feed-in-Tariff scheme.

He gained further insight and expertise in the operations and maintenance of biogas, which helped him become a more sought-after speaker on many platforms, like PIPOC, biogas conferences, and colleges, to promote biogas as a sustainable energy source. Additionally, he has been contributing and is now participating in the curriculum for a training program focused on the “Operation and Maintenance of Biogas Power Plant Course” led by SEDA. Currently, he holds the position of External Advisor (Industry) for a UKM bachelor’s degree program.

Shamsuddin received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Hons. from the University of Malaya.

Ng Wei Pin

Financial Controller, Group Finance

Ng Wei Pin joined Cenergi as a Financial Controller in November 2022. He began his career as an auditor at one of the Big 4 professional firms and gained vast experience across multiple industries, including steel manufacturing, marketing and distribution, IT infrastructure services, shipping, freight forwarding, and related logistics businesses.

After working as an auditor for six years, he shifted his focus to the automotive industry, where he gradually progressed to various senior management positions covering Malaysia and ASEAN markets. With over ten years of experience in the automotive sector, he successfully led and managed the finance and operational functions, ranging from importation, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution to customers.

Ng Wei Pin holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Queensland, Australia. He is also a fellow member of CPA Australia and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

Halim Selamat

General Manager, ReFuel

Halim joined Cenergi SEA in October 2021 as the Head of Engineering and subsequently in April 2022 was redesignated as Head of Asset Management Division. He started his career in Malakoff in 1995, as Maintenance Specialist at 1,303 MW Lumut Power Plant, Segari, Perak. After obtaining his engineering degree in 2002, he had progressively developed his career in Malakoff as Technical Support Engineer, Planning Manager, Boiler Maintenance Manager and Head of Engineering, in several power plants i.e. Combined Cycle Power Plants, Coal Fired Power Plants and District Cooling Utility.

His key achievements in Malakoff were the successful implementation of a turnaround program for a 2,100 MW coal-fired power plant through major plant improvements and engineering modification works at the plant especially thermal boiler system. He was instrumental in establishing a risk-based inspection program company wide, to ensure long-term safe and reliable operation of the coal fired power plants.

Halim earned his Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from University of Science, Malaysia. He is currently the holder of First Grade Steam Engineer’s Certificate and First Grade Internal Combustion Engineer’s Certificate from Department of Safety and Health, Malaysia (DOSH).

Shahrul Hazimi Yusof

Head, Asset Management

Hazimi has over 18 years of experience in the Malaysian power sector. He began his career in 2005 with Malakoff Corporation Berhad as a Boiler Engineer at the Tanjung Bin Sub-Critical Coal Fired Power Plant. He later became a Reliability Manager, ensuring the reliability and availability of power generation equipment across Malakoff’s plants. His final role at Malakoff was as Mechanical Head at the Tanjung Bin Energy Ultra Supercritical Coal Fired Power Plant.

In September 2022, Hazimi joined Cenergi SEA Berhad as Senior Manager of Asset Management (Biogas). By July 2024, he was promoted to Head of Asset Management Division, overseeing biogas, solar farms, solar rooftops, and energy efficiency assets.

Hazimi’s experience includes managing maintenance, warranty management, power plant improvement projects, budgeting, major overhauls of boilers and steam turbines, risk management audits, and OEM service agreements.

He holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Honors (2005) and an MBA in Strategic Management (2012), both from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

Noorhayati Noor

General Manager, Corporate Services

Noorhayati Noor joined Cenergi SEA in July 2022 as General Manager of Corporate Services Division. She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (TESL) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

She brings along with her more than 25 years of human resource experience. 15 years in generalist role and 10 years in compensations and benefits, performance management and talent acquisition. She has both operational and strategic human resources exposure in MNCs namely, Seagate Technologies, Intel Technologies, Texas Instruments, Western Digital and GLCs organisations such as Khazanah Nasional Berhad, and Armed Forces Fund Board. She is very well versed in merger and acquisition activities and in new business set-up. Her strength is in compensations and benefits, performance management, talent acquisition, and HR business partner role.

Azana Fariza Mohd Anwar

Head of Corporate Affairs and Stakeholder Management

Azana Fariza binti Mohd Anwar joined Cenergi SEA Berhad in November 2013 as the Admin & Human Resources Manager. She currently serves as the Head of Corporate Affairs & Stakeholder Management. With over 15 years of experience across various fields, including administration, corporate communications, event management, stakeholder engagement, and Information Technology (IT), Azana has played a key role in shaping the strategic direction of Cenergi.

Before taking on her current role, Azana was responsible for overseeing corporate communications and event planning, ensuring that all messaging was consistent with Cenergi’s goals and brand identity. She has successfully overseen stakeholder relationships, managed high-performance teams, and driven corporate initiatives to enhance internal processes and communication strategies.

Azana graduated from University Technology Malaysia in Computer Science (Information Technology).

Samantha Yeoh Soo Mei

General Manager, Company Secretarial (COSEC)

Samantha joined Cenergi SEA Berhad on 2 March 2020 as the Head of Company Secretarial and was promoted to General Manager, Corporate Secretarial in January 2024. Samantha has more than 20 years of experience in company secretarial practice. Before joining Cenergi, she was the Company Secretary of a public company which is listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia, private companies / subsidiaries of the public listed company. She had gained vast experiences throughout her career journey and was involved in numerous corporate exercise such as the initial public offerings, M&As, ESOS schemes, bonus issues, rights issues, winding-up and liquidation exercise. She also advises on areas of corporate compliance, corporate restructuring and governance matters, amongst others. Samantha is an Associate member of The Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and holds a valid SSM Practicing licence.

Vichitra Thiyagarajah

Head, Legal

Vichitra joined Cenergi SEA in June of 2018 on a consultancy basis. In August of 2020, she took over the position of Head, Legal at Cenergi.

She began her career as all lawyers do, entering legal practice in 1994. Here she honed her skills in litigation and construction disputes with focus on commercial developments. In 2007 she joined a Fortune 500 NYSE listed company specialising in carbon offsets development in which she rose quickly to become the Regional Legal Counsel overseeing 3 regions, and later added on the role of Country Manager of the Malaysia operations.   She has actively advised, negotiated and drafted PPAs and key transactional agreements dealing with divestment of assets, acquisitions and mergers, joint venture projects, licensing and use of trademark and patents. 

Vichitra holds a degree in Law from the University of London and Certificate of Legal Practice from University Malaya. She has served as the Chair of the Investigating Tribunal and Disciplinary Committee and was selected for the National University of Singapore’s Emerging Leaders programme. Her ability to manage complex commercial arrangements, and the continued interest in the field of renewable energy, continues to play a role in Cenergi as she spearheads new projects and new commercial opportunities for Cenergi.
