Biogas to electricity is at the heart of Cenergi’s renewable energy efforts, enabling a cleaner and more resilient energy future for Malaysia.

With over 30 biogas plants across Malaysia and Lampung, Indonesia, we’ve built one of Southeast Asia’s largest biogas portfolios, generating a total of 52.8 MW. These plants capture methane from palm oil mill effluent (POME) — a major industry by-product — and convert it into electricity for the national grid.

This process not only prevents harmful methane emissions and water pollution but also promotes sustainable palm oil practices. Our biogas projects bring lasting local benefits by creating jobs, supporting technical skills development, and boosting rural economies.
