Group Chief Executive Officer

Hairol joined Cenergi SEA as Group Chief Executive Officer in March 2020. He has over 25 years of experience in the energy and power industries. Started his career in Sarawak Shell Berhad in 1993, Hairol later joined Malakoff in 1997. Throughout his 23 years of employment in Malakoff, he has taken leadership roles as Senior Vice President, Plant Manager, Head of Engineering, and Head of Department in various functions such as operations & maintenance, business development and project development in the power, water and renewable energy sectors.

Hairol earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronic and Systems with First Class Honours from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He also attended and completed Harvard Senior Management Development Program in Malaysia in 2018.

Vinie Chong Pui Ling

Group Chief Financial Officer

Vinie Chong Pui Ling joined Cenergi in February 2020 as the Group Chief Financial Officer. She has extensive experience in strategic planning, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and financial management. She started her career in the asset management industry and subsequently joined a boutique financial advisory firm covering Malaysia and Middle East regions. She was instrumental in Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd’s local and cross-border funding and investment transactions which propelled the Group to the second largest listed airport group globally in 2015. She also led the financial transformation and strategic repositioning of Astro Malaysia Group’s production business as the largest production house in the region in 2018.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Melbourne, Australia. She is a CFA Charterholder and a member of Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia.

Zainul Rahim Mohd. Zain

Chairman

Zainul Rahim has over 30 years of experience in Oil and Gas. During his tenure in Royal Dutch Shell, he served the board of 12 Oil and Gas companies. He also held directorships in various NGOs including the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Business Council for Sustainable Development Malaysia, and the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is currently serving as Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman of Hibiscus Petroleum and also Chairman of Malaysian Dutch Business Council.

Zainul holds a BE in Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Western Australia.

Ahmad Jauhari Yahya

Executive Director

Ahmad Jauhari has over 23 years of experience in Energy and Power. He joined Malakoff in I994 as its Chief Executive Officer and spearheaded its growth to become Malaysia’s leading Independent Power Producer (IPP). He also served as the Managing Director of Malaysian Airlines from 2011 to 2015 and has held directorships in several of Malaysia’s leading companies, including MMC, Sapura Resources and Time Engineering. He joined Cenergi as Executive Director in October 2015.

Ahmad Jauhari holds a BSc (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Business Administration from the same institution.

Loh Tzu Anne

Director

Tzu Anne has over 10 years of experience in Corporate and Business Finance. She is currently a Director of Investments in Khazanah and was previously an Associate Director of Strategic Advisory in Maybank Investment. She spent 8 years within the UEM Group and joined BinaFikir in 2006. Her project specialities include mergers and acquisitions, business and sectoral reviews, government policies and frameworks, and implementation planning.

Anne holds a BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Law from the University of Southampton. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), United Kingdom.

Michael Ashburn

Director

Michael has over 30 years of experience in the energy sector. He is a developer of clean energy projects and technology companies. He co-founded Peak Pacific Investment Company in 1996 and served as its Chief Operating Officer, developing and managing ten Chinese joint venture power companies. He also co-founded ClearWorld Energy in Beijing in 2004, the leading player in the China carbon credit markets.

Mike directed the merger to establish Camco Clean Energy that ultimately led to the formation of Cenergi.

Elaine Ong Yee Lynn

Director

Elaine has over 10 years of experience in Corporate and Business Finance. She is currently a Senior Vice President in the Investments division of Khazanah Nasional Berhad and was previously from PwC. Her experience spanned multiple industries such as power and utilities, infrastructure, automobile, property and financial services.

Elaine holds a BSc. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. She is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) through the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
